Hangtown Motocross Classic
It’s a pure adrenalin rush to witness as world-class motocross riders “shred dirt” at the 41st Hangtown Motocross Classic on Saturday, May 30th.
If you like fast-paced motor sports – especially the two-wheel variety – then Hangtown is the place to be May 30. Or if you are just looking for a fun and adventurous way to spend a weekend, don’t miss this event!
Folsom is the place to be to witness one of the oldest and most prestigious races in the motocross world. It’s a massive party that’s been held in the Folsom area over the last 41 years to celebrate the sport of motocross racing.
It’s exciting, fun and thrilling all at the same time. Professional MX riders compete on a very challenging dirt track with expert-level terrain, tight turns and soaring hills. The goal is to be the leader and tackle it all as fast as possible. Hangtown is the only outdoor mx race in the nation sponsored by a nonprofit group of motorcycle riders – the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club. It’s also one of the major races on the American Motorcyclist Association’s pro motorcycle circuit.
The action takes place at the 836-acre Prairie City State Vehicle Recreation Area located less than three miles from Folsom. For this event, the state park is transformed from its usual low-key nature as a public off-road area to a pro-sports venue. Prairie City offers both challenging and easy trails and track for motorcycles, ATVs and 4x4 vehicles such as jeeps. Normally open every day but Wednesday, the off-road vehicle park is closed during Hangtown.
