Fat's Asian Bistro offers wonderful dining Fat's Asia Bistro is a feast of taste. There are so many choices at Fat’s Asia Bistro and Dim Sum Bar that everyone will find a favorite dish. The restaurant is one of the newest offerings by the Fat Family, a Sacramento area restaurant dynasty since 1936.
Designed in contemporary European style with an Asian flair, the restaurant is exotic and glamorous, but at the same time offers Zen comfort with its huge palm trees, temple pool with fountains and huge golden Budda. The atmosphere of the dining room is slightly reminiscent of “Indiana Jones” films – only without the death-defying stunts.
The menu is comprised of traditional and popular Chinese dishes with a Pacific twist. And of course, as the name implies, the selection of Dim Sum is nearly endless from warm appetizers such as chicken satay to cold Vietnamese spring rolls.
Dim Sum, for the beginner, is little rolls or dumplings which can be hot or cold and can be enjoyed as an appetizer, small meal or snack. They include such fillings as pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables.
Entrée menu choices include noodle bowls, rice dishes, noodle bowls and wok-prepared delicacies. Fish lovers can dive into Thai Seafood in a Fat Pot which includes shrimp, scallops, mussels, calarmari and fish in a rich coconut red curry broth. The less adventurous can enjoy Chicken Chow Fun, a simple yet taste-bud thrilling dish of wide rice noodles, chicken and onions. Don’t miss the honey roasted Peking duck which is marinated for 24 hours with select herbs and spices.
The restaurant has a complete bar and features an extensive wine list featuring local vintners, California favorites and imports.
